An Introduction to our Governors

The governors of Jessie Younghusband School are very keen supporters of everything the school undertakes and achieves.  They work closely with the Headteacher to make decisions about the curriculum, finance, Staffing, and the school's buildings. Governors ensure that the school provides the best possible primary education
for its pupils.

They help form the school's aims and policies and act as a link between the local community and the school.  They try to join in with the life and work of the school by visiting classes to meet the children, attend assemblies, staff meetings and other social events to meet the parents.

The Governing Body of Jessie Younghusband School

The Governing Body of the school is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds, including parent governors. Other groups represent the Local Authority, the community of Chichester and staff at the school.

The school governors work with the Headteacher and are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school.
