Christmas Jumper Sale

27th November 2019

Dear Families,

Re: Christmas Jumper Day

As you will be aware, our Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Save the Children is fast approaching! It has been rightly suggested by some parents that we try to make the day as eco-friendly as possible. We are very proud of our Eco Schools’ ‘Green Flag’ status at Jessie and we are always looking at ways to develop our environmental awareness further.

We therefore would like to hold a second-hand Christmas jumper sale at school to give you the opportunity to buy a pre-loved jumper for the festive season, rather than buying something brand new, which ultimately will help to reduce waste.

To make this a great success, we would like you to dig out those Christmas jumpers from last year that no longer fit, or perhaps you are just after a change! All clean jumpers are welcome; from children’s to adult’s sizes.

We are asking that Christmas jumper donations are brought to school on Friday 6th December. This is the same day as donations for the Christmas Fair, in order to make it easier to collect and store.

There will then be a Christmas jumper stall at the Christmas Fair on the following Friday where you will be able to purchase a new jumper. All proceeds from the jumper sale will be added to the final collection for Save the Children.

Of course, as the original letter suggests, on our Christmas Jumper Day we will also welcome old jumpers that have been decorated at home, as another method of reducing clothing waste. Thank you for your anticipated support in making this a great success. Please do let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Mrs Appleby, Christmas enthusiast
in partnership with Mrs Ritchie and Mrs Neville, Eco- warriors.
