At Jessie Younghusband Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child can achieve their full potential, regardless of their background or circumstances.
The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the government to help schools improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and to ensure that all children have access to the opportunities and support they need to succeed.
At JYS, we carefully consider how this funding is used to support pupils both academically and personally. This may include providing targeted teaching and intervention, support for attendance and wellbeing, wider curriculum opportunities, enrichment activities and resources to help remove barriers to learning.
Our strategy is based on a detailed understanding of our pupils' needs and is regularly reviewed to ensure that funding is having a positive impact on children's achievement, attendance, wellbeing and engagement with school life.
The document below sets out how Pupil Premium funding was allocated during the 2025-2026 academic year, the rationale behind our spending decisions and the impact of previous spending.
Our 2026-2027 Pupil Premium Strategy Statement will be published by 31 December 2026, in line with Department for Education requirements.
If you would like further information about Pupil Premium funding or believe your child may be eligible for Free School Meals or Pupil Premium support, please contact the school office.
At Jessie Younghusband Primary School, we strive to ensure that all pupils are able to Aspire, Respect and Enjoy, regardless of their starting point or circumstances.
