At Jessie Younghusband Primary School, we are committed to continually improving the quality of education and experiences we provide for our children.
Each year, school leaders and governors identify a number of key priorities for development. These priorities form part of our School Improvement Plan (SIP), which is informed by our self-evaluation, pupil outcomes, attendance and behaviour information, staff and parent feedback, and external advice and support.
The full School Improvement Plan is a detailed working document used by school leaders and governors throughout the year. To help parents understand the school's key areas of focus, we have produced the summary below, which highlights the main priorities for the current academic year.
Our priorities are centred around:
- Improving attendance and promoting positive behaviour.
- Continuing to strengthen teaching and learning across the curriculum.
- Ensuring all children, including those with additional needs, receive the support they need to succeed.
- Building strong foundations in the Early Years, particularly in communication and language development.
- Developing leadership at all levels to ensure the school continues to improve.
These priorities are closely linked to our vision of inspiring and nurturing the individuality of every member of our school community through our values of
Aspire, Respect and Enjoy
The Governing Board monitors progress against these priorities throughout the year and challenges school leaders to ensure that actions are having a positive impact on pupils' learning, wellbeing and personal development.
